It’s time to adjust back to reality. The past few days went by so fast!
Eric and I had the opportunity to escape for a few days to the beautiful Bahamas. For those that know us, we rarely plan relaxing, beach vacations. Most of our trips are so jam-packed with action that sometimes I feel like I need a vacation to recover from our vacation. This time was different. It was really a spur of the moment trip. Lately, we’ve had a lot going on and really needed some rest and relaxation. I tend to browse the internet for potential travel adventures (almost every night when I desperately need a trip lol) and happened to stumble upon a deal to the Bahamas. I had visited the Bahamas before but it was an area that was new to Eric. Since it is close to the US, the Bahamas seemed like the perfect place to just relax for a few days.
We spent time in Freeport which, if you look at a map, is really pretty close to Florida! We just missed spring break season and it is before school is out for the summer so there were minimal crowds. The junkanoo beach club was a recommended place to visit. Taino beach is free (some other beaches charge an entrance fee) and because it was low season, it was basically empty! I heard it can get pretty crazy with crowds during high season. We were excited that there were not too many people. This was our view for most of our time there:
Beautiful, isn’t it?! We strolled along the beach and went swimming in the ocean. We were also lucky to have great weather. It was just warm enough to go in the water but not too hot that it would be unbearable to sit on the beach. Locals told us that just a few weeks ago it was too cold to enjoy the beach. While sipping a few cold beverages and gazing out into the ocean, I couldn’t help but smile and be thankful for a great start to our Bahamian vacation π

Yay, you’re back! And by the looks of it, the Bahamas treated you well! π
P.s. I totally google an daydream about travel every spare moment I have too!

Thx! It was great. I think daydreaming of travel is what keeps me going everyday LOL. I’m already counting down to our next trip π

Totally agree with your “need a vacation to recover from our vacation” π
And very happy for you to have such great weather, last year we went to Hong Kong for 2 weeks, the weather was horrible; we were told on the next day we returned home, the weather returned back to sunny π¦

I think weather is one of my biggest travel stressors. Lately, we’ve been lucky but I have definitely visited places where the weather was great before and after my visit, not during. Sorry to hear about Hong Kong but hopefully you still enjoyed the trip!

Yes, we did enjoy the trip. Even though we walked a lot, we still gained a lot of weight – they’ve got lots of nice yummy inexpensive food to eat, so instead of having our normal 3 meals + mini snacks a day, we had 5 meals + (lost count) snacks a day…
