With all of the travel over the past few weeks, I neglected to share my most recent apple dessert experiment. I love fresh, warm, crescent rolls. They are great with every meal and sometimes can be the whole meal alone. But, I discovered they can be a great add-on for dessert. (For the record, I am not claiming this is a healthy dessert). All you need are some apples and a few common kitchen ingredients to make this dessert
Ingredients:
- 8oz crescent rolls dough
- 2 peeled apples
- 1/4 cup melted smart butter
- 1/3 cup sugar (You can add more but I didn’t want it too sweet)
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Quarter the 2 apples so there are 8 slices
- On each triangle of the crescent roll, sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on one side
- Place an apple slice on the sugared side and wrap the crescent dough around the apple slice.
- Place all 8 rolls into the baking dish and pour apple cider into the dish
- Melt butter and pour over the rolls
- Sprinkle the rest of the sugar and cinnamon on top
- Bake until the rolls are golden brown (mine took about 30 min but I recommend watching it. We also like the dough less baked)
I could smell the apples and cinnamon as it baked in the oven. These came out warm, soft, and delicious. This is probably my favorite of all of the apple experiments I have tried this fall season. Plus it is super easy to make! Enjoy!
