With all of the travel over the past few weeks, I neglected to share my most recent apple dessert experiment. I love fresh, warm, crescent rolls. They are great with every meal and sometimes can be the whole meal alone. But, I discovered they can be a great add-on for dessert. (For the record, I am not claiming this is a healthy dessert). All you need are some apples and a few common kitchen ingredients to make this dessert

Ingredients:

  • 8oz crescent rolls dough
  • 2 peeled apples
  • 1/4 cup melted smart butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar (You can add more but I didn’t want it too sweet)
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Quarter the 2 apples so there are 8 slices
  3. On each triangle of the crescent roll, sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on one side
  4. Place an apple slice on the sugared side and wrap the crescent dough around the apple slice.
  5. Place all 8 rolls into the baking dish and pour apple cider into the dish
  6. Melt butter and pour over the rolls
  7. Sprinkle the rest of the sugar and cinnamon on top
  8. Bake until the rolls are golden brown (mine took about 30 min but I recommend watching it. We also like the dough less baked)

I could smell the apples and cinnamon as it baked in the oven. These came out warm, soft, and delicious. This is probably my favorite of all of the apple experiments I have tried this fall season. Plus it is super easy to make! Enjoy!
