During a recent trip to Maryland, we went out to historic Hyattsville which is near the University of Maryland. We were up visiting my parents and they decided to take us out for lunch. There used to be nothing there but recently they have been building up the area with new restaurants, cafes, and stores. We decided to try Busboys and Poets. It is a pretty large restaurant that has a cafe area where local poets can come and share readings. They also primarily serve food using local and organic ingredients. I’ve really started to appreciate this more after signing up for our meat CSA. You really can see and taste the difference.
We all shared the crab fritters and I decided to try one of their “ECO sips” made from organic fruits, a grilled vegetable sandwich, and a bowl of soup. (I was starving when we ordered lol). Eric had a burger which I also took a few bites out of 🙂
It was a nice restaurant with some good food. Hopefully next time we can come and catch some of the local poets.
