On our way back to Atlanta, we planned to visit a state park about an hour outside the city, High Falls. It was beautiful weather outside, another chance to break in our hiking boots, and an opportunity to burn off some of that ice cream I ate earlier in our trip. October has to be one of my favorite months in Georgia. It’s pretty mild with no humidity, few annoying bugs flying around, and plenty of beautiful trees along the hills. The great thing about Atlanta is that even though we live in the city, it only is a few hours to lakes, waterfalls, and the Appalachian trails.
This park had a couple of miles worth of trails winding around the water. I like hiking near water; the sound of the rushing water makes the hike a little more relaxing. Here are some pics from our day in the park:
We had a great time jumping across rocks and climbing up and down the hills.
